About Me

My interest in storytelling started early — right around the same time as my love for sports. Growing up, I was the kid who watched the evening news with my parents, waited for the sports segment, and knew before high school was over that journalism was where I wanted to be.

When my high school didn’t have a newspaper or TV station, I made my own — writing game recaps, creating news updates from home, and finding any excuse to tell stories and share them with others. That curiosity followed me to the University of Michigan–Flint, where I immersed myself in campus media, serving as a sports reporter, photographer, music columnist, web design editor, and social media editor. I focused on gaining experience across platforms, pairing my work with the campus newspaper with broadcast internships at the local NBC affiliate.

Sports opened the door, but they didn’t limit me. After graduating, I found myself drawn to the creative and operational side of live events, working in game-day operations, media, and social roles for multiple professional hockey franchises. I spent several years in sports media as a reporter and editor, covering collegiate and professional hockey and mentoring writers across the United States and Canada for an all-female-run sports media outlet.

That foundation led me into broadcast news, where I worked as a digital news producer at WILX News 10. In that role, I wrote and edited web content, managed social platforms, anchored OTT streams, coordinated live coverage, and translated breaking news into clear, engaging digital storytelling under deadline.

Most recently, I transitioned into strategic communications for a mission-driven organization focused on education, conservation, and community engagement. As a Communications Specialist, I led social media strategy and content creation across platforms, produced newsletters, designed graphics and signage, supported media relations and community outreach, and drove significant audience growth through data-informed strategy and creative storytelling. It was a role that combined everything I love — creativity, analytics, and purpose-driven communication.

Along the way, I’ve continued to build my skill set through certifications in Adobe Content Creation, Social Media Content & Strategy, and G.H.O.S.T. human trafficking awareness, reinforcing my commitment to ethical storytelling, digital best practices, and community-focused work.

At the core of everything I do is the same motivation that started back in middle school: turning moments into stories that connect people. Whether through sports, news, or mission-driven communications, I specialize in building authentic digital voices, creating content that resonates, and helping organizations engage meaningfully with their audiences.
